Production Overview:

Gypsum is a mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate. It has a hardness of approximately 2 on the Mohs scale, exhibits a vitreous to pearly luster, and has a specific gravity of about 2.3. Characterized by distinct cleavage and a crystalline structure that is typically tabular or acicular (needle-like), gypsum can be processed after crushing for use in construction materials, gypsum board, cement additives, and lightweight plastering materials. Furthermore, there is significant demand for gypsum powder across various industries, including chemicals, agriculture, environmental protection, and energy conservation.

Gypsum Grinding Process

Raw gypsum material undergoes preliminary crushing in a crusher before being conveyed via an elevator into the feed bin of the CRLM vertical mill. Subsequently, the mill's main motor—driven through a reducer—rotates the grinding table, while the grinding rollers rotate along the table's raceway. The gypsum feeds from the inlet onto the center of the grinding table, where it moves outward at a steady pace under the influence of centrifugal force.

As the material passes beneath the grinding rollers, it is subjected to intense pressure; larger lumps are instantly crushed, while finer particles form a material bed where inter-particle grinding occurs. Drying and grinding take place simultaneously as a stream of hot air enters uniformly around the grinding table, drying the material and conveying it upward to the classifier.

Qualified fine powder is carried out of the mill by the airflow and collected by the system's dust collector, resulting in the finished product. This entire process is highly efficient and energy-saving, ensuring a smoother and more streamlined production line.

Diverse Applications of Gypsum

Diverse Applications in the Construction Sector: Gypsum is widely utilized in the construction industry for applications such as interior wall finishes, suspended ceilings, partition walls, floor paving, and exterior wall decoration. Products such as gypsum board, gypsum moldings, and decorative gypsum sculptures play a pivotal role in interior design and architectural ornamentation; their smooth surface finish, durability, and ease of processing have earned them widespread popularity.

Medical Sector: Medical-grade gypsum is used to manufacture orthopedic casts and splints for the treatment of bone fractures and for providing support to injured body parts. Medical gypsum offers excellent breathability and comfort, effectively immobilizing the injured area and facilitating the healing process.

Agriculture: In the agricultural sector, gypsum is employed as a soil amendment to improve soil structure and fertility. The addition of gypsum improves soil structure, enhances soil aeration and water retention, regulates soil pH levels, and supplies plants with essential nutrients such as calcium and sulfur.

Industrial Applications: Gypsum has diverse applications within the industrial sector, serving as a raw material for the production of gypsum wallboard, a glaze component in the ceramics industry, and a filler in the papermaking industry, among other uses.

Arts and Crafts: Due to its ease of processing and carving, gypsum is frequently utilized in sculpture, model making, and the creation of various artworks.
